The Money Maven Affirmation Deck

Melanie and I worked together over the course of 16 weeks to bring to life merchandise for her podcast. We began with the design of her packaging which features a complimentary pair of repeat patterns and typography. Then, we set out to design 52 unique cards, featuring Melanie’s affirmations. Each card features hand-drawn “fonts” and expressive, abstract backgrounds in her brand colors. The artwork was drawn in Procreate and finalized in Adobe Illustrator.

The first eight weeks of our project was spent designing the packaging for her affirmation cards.
The final packaging featured gold leaf and a raised texture.
Patterns were created using her branding, which we did together prior to this project.
Each card featured a repeat tile pattern on the back and a hand illustrated text/font on abstract backgrounds drawn by hand in Procreate.
52 backgrounds and 52 hand lettered affirmations made the final cut.
Over the course of the project, over 120 variations were created.
I worked closely with Melanie to finalize the artwork.
Melanie was very hands-on during the editing phase of this project.
The final weeks of the project were spent honing in on her vision. We tweaked the lettering, colors, and backgrounds based on her feedback.
