Eyes on Eastlake Logo and Branding Design

I worked with Ailleen to design the logo, branding, and business cards for her optometry office, Eyes on Eastlake.

Consultation

Ailleen and I began her logo and brand design project with a consultation via Zoom. We spoke about her goals for her new business and her expectations for our project. While the initial scope for the project was to design her business cards for her optometry office, Eyes on Eastlake, I recommended that we should first design her logo and create a brand guide. With those two elements finalized, we would have a clearer picture of how her business cards should look.

Week 1: Mood Board

In the first week of Ailleen’s branding design project, it was important to establish a shared visual language. Creating a mood board is an essential part of the my design process. It is a visual map the client and I can both refer to throughout the design process to ensure we are staying on the right path. This mood board will show the colors, fonts, textures, and images that will inspire her brand.

Week 2: Sketches & Brand Elements

Once we had a better sense of how the brand should look and feel, I began creating rough concepts for her logo. I presented Ailleen with three different directions for her logo. In total, I created ten logos for her to consider. Along with the logos, I asked Ailleen to choose which textures and illustrations she liked best.

Week 3: Business Card Design

Designing the business cards for Eyes on Eastlake was nearly effortless now that we had established how her logo and brand should look and feel. I combined the final designs for her logo, textures, and illustrations into a set of three business cards. Ailleen wanted business cards she could use for two different purposes. The first two business card designs include a blank space for her to write the appointment date and time for her clients’ upcoming appointments. A third business card design would be used for networking and marketing.

Week 4: Printing & File Delivery

In week four of Ailleen’s logo design project, I sent her business card designs to print and delivered the final files for her brand via Dropbox. The final files included her logo in .png, .jpeg, .pdf formats and in three colors - black, white and ivory. I also included all of the artwork (textures, illustrations, etc.) in .jpeg and vector format. Finally, I included each business card design in .png and .ai format. With each of these files in hand, Ailleen would be free to utilize her new logo, brand elements and business card designs in any future web or print projects for Eyes on Eastlake.
